Biography

CACÁ REDIG
FineArt, Artist, Photographer

Photographer, graphic designer and breeder passionate about horses, Cacá Redig, from Pernambuco, has art in his DNA. Son of Lucia
Helena, a plastic artist from Pernambuco, Cacá grew up in a family where art was a daily affair. He is the great-nephew of the renowned artist Reynaldo Fonseca, recently deceased at the age of 94. His other great uncle, Olavo Redig de Campos, was an important representative Brazilian modern architecture, signing, among others, the projects of the Brazilian embassies in Washington and Buenos Aires. The passion for horses comes from childhood, when I drew them in his first scribbles. After a four years stay in the United States he moved to São Paulo, but soon realized that he would like to live with his favorite animals and moved to the country side, Salto, where he joined his passion for horses to photography. With striking images, a look through the sub-exposed and much contrast, Cacá shows us scenes of his daily life in a different way, with a touch of mystery, heir to the art of Reynaldo Fonseca. According to curator Denise Mattar: “Cacá Redig combines his artistic sensitivity to a deep knowledge about horses. That allows him to capture them in motion, at the perfect moment, with manes loose, flying in the wind, when they are strong and irresistible, and it is almost impossible not to associate them with absolute freedom.
