I'm Lorna Aguirre, born in Bahía Blanca, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina.
My father was a great amateur photographer, and my mother was a visual artist.
From them, I inherited these two great passions: photography and painting.
I began working more diligently back in 2009, submitting my photos to contests, uploading them to photography sites, and taking some courses to learn more as a self-taught artist.
I participated in various national and international photography contests and in the Argentine Federation of Photography exhibitions. As a participant in the Bahía Blanca Photo Club, I won the 2024 Condor Color Grand Prix of Honor with my work "Cocinerita" and the 2025 Condor Monochrome Prize with my work "Mi Mundo."
I gravitate toward black and white photography; I think that's due to the fact that my father also took monochrome photographs. But I also like still lifes, backlighting, and especially photographs related to classical dance, given that one of my three daughters, who are almost always my models, studied that style for many years.
I try to photograph people I know well; I need a certain chemistry to capture the portraits, which is why most of the models are my daughters or their friends, and other family members.
All my photographs are always taken in natural light, so I choose the right time of day, depending on the type of portrait I want to convey.
