I am Dr. Srimanta Ray, Associate Professor of Bengali at Government Degree College, Kanchanpur, North Tripura, and a passionate nature and wildlife photographer with more than three decades of experience. My photography focuses on biodiversity, wildlife, people, tribal life, culture, and conservation storytelling.
My work has received recognition at national and international platforms, including HIPA, IPA, Queer Nature Photography Awards, and Hindustan Times Top 100. My photographs have also been exhibited at Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi.
In 2026, I received 2nd Position in Herpetofauna of Tripura and 3rd Position in Birds of Tripura at the State-Level Van Mahotsava Photography Competition. I also served as a Resource Person at Lalit Kala Akademi, North East Regional Centre, Agartala, and as an International Guest Juror for the 7th National Nature Photography Contest, Mosaico Natura México (CONABIO).
I believe photography is not merely about capturing images—it is a powerful medium of observation, storytelling, documentation, and conservation.
